Hearthstone: april 2018 season (witchwood expansion) legend climb

Hi again, it’s been a long time (on this merged blog platform especially) and even if meanwhile i still played, i just didn’t have the time to post as well. Ok, let’s jump to it, it’s the year of the raven, and the witchwood expansion pack was released this april season. While the meta is still in turmoil, i took quick advantage and managed to climb very fast to legend, using only three decks, that i twicked from time to time:

Greymane odd Paladin, gives you fast games that rely on some combos and the ability to flood the board, your 1 mana cost hero power helping a lot in this regard. Make early trades, control the game then use the finishers at your disposal, like the sea giants, dinosize and hopefully a lucky spiteful summoner spawn.

Probably the most aggro deck at this moment, face rogue doesn’t care about card draw or late game, because if you haven’t won by then, you probably won’t anyway. Depending on the type of opponent you’re facing you can go for some early trades or just straight face, like in the good old face hunter days 🙂

Although the first 2 decks carried me to rank 1, i felt i was stuck there and i did want to master cubelock as well. Turns out it was a smart choice, as this archetype usually shuts down any aggro shenanigans and pairs very well against any other control types. The key to succes is mulligan hard for skull and lackeys, having a voidlord or a doomguard on turn 5 or 6 makes it very hard for your opponent, and the deck also has very good board clear and sustain.
